The dining area is one of the highlights of the project. The designer used glass bricks to divide the space, creating independent yet interconnected seating zones through the interplay of light and shadow. Through the windows, guests can admire lush bamboo groves, feel gentle breezes, and immerse themselves in flowing water landscapes — enjoying exquisite cuisine while being fully enveloped in the harmony of nature.
The essence of bamboo culture lies in the philosophy of the “humble valley,” deeply rooted in poetry and Zen. Integrating bamboo culture into the design embodies the concept of boundless “emptiness” and spiritual clarity. By leveraging the building’s structural features, the designer introduced natural daylight into the second-floor scenic area, seamlessly blending architecture with the passage of time and changing seasons. Space is decorated with time itself — emptiness becomes an ever-transforming container that encapsulates Chongqing’s landscapes, waterways, and human culture within a compact environment. The moment guests discover this hidden sanctuary, they uncover breathtaking moments concealed within.
Located in Chongqing, China, Bayufeng SPA won the Gold Award in Interior Design Category at the prestigious French Novum Design Award 2023, drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese poetry and Zen philosophy.
The lobby, adored by visitors, features a stunning lifelike bionic kinetic horse. So realistic that nearly every guest mistakes it for a real horse — phones come out instantly for photos and videos that go viral. The designer ingeniously created a mystical habitat using water and mist, making the horse appear as if it stepped out of a fairytale realm. With subtle head movements, opening and closing of the mouth, and gentle tail swaying, its lifelike actions leave guests astonished, delighted, and laughing in wonder.
